The Newman Catholic Student Association (NCSA), a registered student organization at UMass Amherst, is a faith-based community that promotes the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the spiritual growth of others. We strive to grow closer to Christ and foster Catholic faith and fellowship through prayer, service and communal events.

Come encounter God's love through outdoor activities, conferences, communal events, retreats, and international service trips and pilgrimages! NCSA is open to all Five-College students. To join and receive email updates, please click on the link below.

Please join us for a good discussion tackling the issues that men and women face in today's society and our need to fight the spiritual battles in order to become better men and women. As a result we will become good friends, husbands, wives, priests or religious someday, but most especially - men and women of God.

Wednesdays 8:00-9:00 pm

Every Wednesday evening during the academic year  you will have the opportunity to sit with our Lord fully present to you in the Blessed Sacrament. Come join us for our weekly night of quiet prayer and reflection in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Our students have called this time "an oasis" from the tasks of the daily college life. Come experience the Peace that Christ Himself gives!

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid." -John 14:27

Sundays 9:15-10:15 am (K-6 & First Communion)

Sundays 5:00-6:45 pm (7-8 & Confirmation)

If you are looking to continue growing in your faith, and like to teach, you may be interested in teaching religious education! Classes for grades K-6 meet on Sundays from 9:15-10:15am at Newman and grades 7-11 meet Sundays 5:00-6:45 pm at Newman.

For a person to teach religious education, he or she needs to be a
baptized and confirmed Catholic who is living the faith, for example- seeking to follow Christ, trying to grow in holiness, going to Mass every Sunday and all holy days of obligation, having a daily prayer life, and going regularly to confession, etc.

These retreats are minimal cost, and go from Friday night through Sunday afternoon with transportation & room and board included.
