Women of Faith
Tuesdays 7:00 pm, Board Room
This semester the Women of Faith group (Saint Brigid & Newman communities) will be taking a look at the corporal works of mercy through reading and discussing Mitch Finley's book, "The Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy." The USCCB website states that "The Corporal Works of Mercy are found in the teachings of Jesus and give us a model for how we should treat all others, as if they were Christ in disguise; they “are charitable actions by which we help our neighbors in their bodily needs” (U.S. Catholic Catechism for Adults)." So, what exactly did Jesus say? What did (does) he mean and how can we respond in our hearts, minds, prayer and actions? Together we will dig a little deeper into these familiar words of Jesus and hopefully grow in faith and friendship. The Women of Faith group meets on Tuesdays at 7pm in the Newman Center meeting room on the 2nd floor. Our first meeting of the semester will be on September 10th. Please join us!
