Giving Tree

During Advent 2007 the Newman Catholic Center University of Massachusetts community provided more than 600 gifts of clothing to children in our area. In addition, our hat and mitten drive raised over 100 hats and pairs of mittens or gloves for our neighbors.Keep an eye on this page for information about the 2008 Giving Tree, or contact our coordinator:

A sampling of the thanks offered to the Newman Center UMass apostolate from this year's giving tree gift recipients:

"On behalf of the Catholic Youth Group at the Southeast Asian Apostolate, I would like to offer our sincere thank you to you and all the University of Massachusetts students who aprticipated in the giving tree program, for your kindness and generosity. Your gifts of sharing God's love with the Youth Group are appreciated. Children received your gifts with joy. I could see the happiness through their eyes when I distributed their gifts to them. I could not find the adequate words to express my gratitude to you. May God continue His blessings upon your ministry and all the students at the Newman Center. I have enclosed a listing of the signatures of the children who received the gifts." Sincerely yours, Rev. Quynh Tran, Southeast Asian Apostolate Church, Holy Name Parish, 323 Dickinson Street, Springfield, MA 01108, 413.733.5823.

"Once again, Montague Catholic Social Ministries thanks you for helping put smiles on so many people." Ceil Celotto, Montague Catholic Social Ministries, 41 3rd St, Turners Falls, MA 01376, 413.863.4805
