Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel

Easter Sunday Mass

Acolyte in Procession
Dear Scholar:

The heart of the Newman Catholic Center is the Chapel; specifically, the Eucharist. The Newman Community is never more itself than when we are gathered around the Altar celebrating the Holy Mass. "Food for the Body, Food for the Soul," that's what Newman is all about.
( Worship Times )

The Chapel is open from early morning till late at night, seven days a week, just so you can come in at anytime and pray. The physical body of Christ is reserved in the Tabernacle every day of the year (well, except for Good Friday and Holy Saturday).

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel is not just the place where Mass is held. It is a sanctuary where students, faculty and friends can come and spend time in prayer. If you're having a tough day, if the frantic pace of campus life is running you into the ground, or if you have a big exam to go to, please, stop by the Chapel and spend some time with our Lord. Light a candle, write a message in the prayer book, then get back out there and be the success God is calling you to be!

Masses are held daily and on the weekends. Vespers (Evening Prayer) is at
5:15 pm  each day. Adoration and Benediction occur several times a week.

The Tabernacle,
the center of the Center
Long time campus chaplain and Director of the Newman Center, Fr. Joe Quigley, use to tell the students:
'You're the best of the best. You wouldn't be here if God didn't want you to be at UMass. So, do what you can do reasonably, and leave the rest to God!'

The Newman Center Chapel is the place where you can find the answers to your questions, and leave the rest to God... and have some fun along the way too.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Douglas McGonagle
