Pre-Cana

Marriage Preparation at Newman

The Newman Catholic Center offers a one-day Pre-Cana class for couples preparing for the sacrament of Marriage.

Pre-Cana at Newman is open to everyone.Couples do not need to be members of the Newman Community nor do they need to plan on making marriage vows in our Chapel to take part in our Pre-Cana Sessions. Class space is limited to 15 couples: register early.

 
How do I Register?

 You can register and pay on-line or print out and complete the mail in registration form  
(PDF: requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).


If registering by mail, make a check for $80, made out to Newman Catholic Center and send it along with the form to:

What does the class include?
Over the course of the day, a team of Catholic couples will bring participants along with conversation, prayer, reflection and laughter. Our day's agenda:
  • 9:00 am. Opening: Mass, then introduction and orientation
  • Interactive sessions: Communication in Marriage, Sacrament of Marriage, Finances and Potential Complications, Trusting God
  • Lunch
  • Interactive sessions: Challenging/comforting, My/Your/Our Family, Becoming Intimate, Family Planning
  • Closing: Blessing and Invitation to the Sacrament of Reonciliation, reflection, feedback. Closing prayer at 4:00 pm.

Your registration fee includes snacks, lunch
and materials.

  • Saturday, August 9, 2008

  • Saturday, November 15, 2008
  • the program will continue in 2009

Couples who wish to Marry in Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel at the Newman Center must first meet with our priest or deacon. Go to our Marriage page for more information.
