Reading
works of fiction by authors with catholic sensibilities
The Best of the Cardinal Newman
Short Story Competition 2008 Sep. 10th 7:30p, Fr Quigley Rm.
In the spring of '08, Newman ran its first Short
Story Competition. Using the Book Club's motto, the competition called for original
works of fiction by undergraduate authors with Catholic sensibilities. We will be reading the four
winning submissions. For a copy of the book, stop by the Newman Catholic

Newman and Amazon.com Help
Support Newman when buying your Textbooks On-line! |
|
|
Buying Textbooks is no fun and
they're way too expensive...
but, you can take some of the sting out of
it by using the Newman Website.
Buy at the
Amazon Textbook Store
and Newman will get a percentage of the sale (up to 10%).
The kick-back to Newman will not increase the cost to you
(though it will not make your purchase any cheaper either...
sorry)
but at least you can feel good that some of your
money is going to help Newman!
Also, checkout the Newman
Center Store or simply go to Amazon.com
by first clicking on any of the Amazon.com links on the Newman Web
site for any other purchases and Newman gets a
percentage of the sale.

Vespers at Newman, Daily at 5:15p |
| Vespers
(Evening Prayer)
is part of the 'Liturgy of the Hours' (also called the Divine
Office), the
official prayer of the Church. The 'Liturgy of the Hours' fulfills the
Gospel command to 'pray constantly.'
Recently, Newman students and extended
community members have discovered the beauty of this ancient liturgy. We
are now gathering daily at 5:15p in Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel to pray
vespers in community.
Everyone is welcome. Copies of the Office
will be provided and we will be happy to guide newcomers through this
beautiful liturgy. |
