General Information
Newman Center Facilities
Newman Catholic Center is a 60,000 sq. ft.
building all for the use of the students, faculty and
staff of UMass and the surrounding colleges. The
Newman students and staff make good use of
the meeting rooms, lounges and Cafe at
Newman.
However, our facilities are also available to
outside groups and organizations for rentals.

The center of the Center is "Our Lady Seat of
Wisdom Chapel" which can seat 400 in the nave.
The adjacent classrooms have sliding walls that
enable us to expand the seating capacity of the
Chapel.
The Newman Center has FREE WiFi throughout
the building. There are also public access
computers available in the Burke Lounge.
The Newman Center is also equipped with the
latest Audio/Visual equipment. Fr Doug likes to
say that Newman has more Big Screen TVs than
a BestBuy store!
- There is the 110 in. movie theater in the
Burke Lounge, complete with Digital
Dolby Surround Sound.
- We have a 72in. big screen TV running
in the Cafe (often set to ESPN)
- And a 50in. plasma TV in the
David Bartley Room
Meeting and Banquet Facilities
at Newman
The Newman Catholic Center on the Campus of
the University of Massachusetts at Amherst is
the perfect place to hold your next meeting,
conference or banquet. Whether it is a small
meeting or a large dinner with 250+ guests, we
have the facilities that will make your next
gathering a success.
Our meeting rooms are furnished with the latest
A/V equipment and have wireless internet. Our
culinary department can provide you with anything
from simple coffee and Danish, to a full sit down
meal.
