| UMass Council Meetings: 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month following the 7:00 PM Mass in the Newman Library. Next meeting, Sunday 4/20 What does UMass, Harvard, Holy Cross and Boston College have in common? All of these schools have new Knights of Columbus College Councils. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization and is dedicated to the four ideals of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The activities of the Knights are divided into five service areas: church, family, youth, community, and council. A new college council has been established here at the UMass. If you are interested in joining us as a member of the UMass Knights of Columbus College Council, then please contact Fr Doug Calendar
College Knights College Knights are full members of the Order, having all the rights, privileges and responsibilities therein. College Knights belong to units called College Councils. The only difference between the a college council and any other local council is that college councils are located on college or university campuses. College Knights lead their councils with the guidance of a financial secretary and a district deputy. Today there are more than 16,000 college Knights and 160 college councils in the United States, Canada and the Philippines. | | Already a Knight? If you are a student at UMass and are already a Knight, you can temporarily transfer to the UMass council for the duration of your studies at UMass. Contact Fr Doug for more information. | |
